Butte Valley Ranch is located in Colorado Hunt Unit 12

Due to the ever changing Hunting Tag Regulations and number of Tags available, please consult the Colorado Division of Wildlife website listed below or the printed Regulation pamphlet.


Hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1949, must have completed an approved hunter education course or bowhunter education course (for archery licenses only) sanctioned by a state or province before applying for or purchasing a license. Colorado honors hunter education courses for other states and provinces. You must present an original hunter safety card when buying a license. You must carry your hunter education card when hunting unless “Verified” is printed by the DOW on your license.

Things to Remember

  • Application deadline is first Tuesday in April.
  • You must apply for all Deer Licenses.
  • You Must apply for an Elk and Deer License if you decide to hunt the fourth rifle season.
  • You must apply for all Cow Elk Licenses.
